This is a project I developed for Kelsey Roland’s Vis Dev in Blender class through Warrior Art Camp.
I learned how to utilize Blender in a vis dev pipeline to get block ins for characters and environments that can serve as guides and reduce the time needed to create key art.

Below are the paintings, followed by the Blender exports.

the Girls

I initially modelled Marilou as I had designed her (below). However, when I placed the girls in the sunny environment, I decided to update her outfit so she and her sister could more believably be comfortable in the same climate.

The Star Warden’s Home

A key location of this story is the Star Warden’s home. The lighthouse lights up to alert the wardens that the portal is activated so I wanted to design a space where the lighthouse is visible from every room in the house. Blender was an excellent tool to allow me to do block in the space, create a giant glass dome that would create those clear lines of sight.

This is the first pass block in where I solved all the main scale and position challenges this concept presented.
